Herein we report a novel difluorocarbene-induced ring-opening of THF with TMSCF 2 Br for difluoromethoxybutylation of N -aryl- N -hydroxylamines under mild circumstances. The mechanism examine exposed that THF was intermolecular activated by difluorocarbene, then the fashioned oxonium ylide was nucleophilic attacked by N -aryl- N -hydroxylamines.
