Ridgefield:This exciting and beautiful small town is lively. What isn’t there to do here? While here you can see fun live shows, tour educational and historic buildings, eat fantastic food, and stroll local shops. 

Wethersfield:Wethersfield is another charming must-visit town in Connecticut. It’s in Hartford County and is home to about 27,000 residents.

Norfolk:The population of this small town in 2020 was 1,588. This gorgeous little scenic town was incorporated in 1758. Its surface area is 46.4 square miles.

Mystic:The Mystic area has a rather long history. Before European settlers arrived in the area, Connecticut was home to the Pequot people. 

Madison:Nearing our last must-visit small town on our list is Madison in New Haven. This lively beach town was incorporated in 1826 and has a population of around 17,000. 

Litchfield:The small town of Litchfield, not to be confused with the county, is a lovely town, part of the Northwest Hills Planning Region. Its population is a little over 8,000. 

Kent:Kent has a population of 3,019. This town uniquely borders the state of New York. It was incorporated in 1739 and has a surface area of 49.6 square miles.

Guilford:The eighth must-visit small town in Connecticut is Guilford in New Haven County. In 2020, the population of Guilford was 22,000. 

Fairfield: Fairfield is also a wonderful place to visit in Connecticut. This small town in Fairfield County is the largest on our list. 

Colebrook:Starting our list is Colebrook in Litchfield County. The population of this small town is less than 1,500. This town was first incorporated in 1779.

Chester: The first European settlers in this area, settled around 1692, although it wasn’t incorporated as a town until 1836. Chester’s surface area is 16.8 square miles.
