Poussey Washington, 'Orange Is The New Black' - Who wasn't shocked by the death of the inmate played by Samira Wiley? And it was when she'd only just found a love she could call her own!

Marissa Cooper, 'The O.C.' - The lead in the series, played by Mischa Barton, couldn't avoid a tragic end either. She dies after being hit by a car.

The tenth doctor, 'Doctor Who' - David Tennant was really popular as the tenth Doctor Who, and fans were really let down when his character died.

Lexa 'The 100' -Played by Alycia Debnam Carey, she was killed by a stray bullet. Fans were left upset by the lesbian character's death, and said that gay characters don't have long lives in TV series.

Matthew Crawley, 'Downton Abbey' -
Played by Dan Stevens, this character survived the war, but dies in a car accident after his child's birth. Nobody was happy

Tara Maclay, 'Buffy - The Vampire Slayer - In her final episode this witch is shot. Tara (Amber Benson) dies in the arms of her girlfriend, Willow. To this day a lot of people haven't gotten over it.

Lexie Grey, 'Grey's Anatomy' - Meredith's sister, played by Chyler Leigh, dies in a plane accident. It was hard to hold back the tears, especially after Mark Sloan's declaration of love.

James Novak, 'Scandal' - Reporter James Novak (Dan Bucatinsky) knew too much and was a victim of a cover up by Jake Ballard (Scott Foley). His last words were his daughter's name. Poor fella.

Alaric Saltzman, 'Vampire Diaries' -
The history professor (Matthew Davis) came back to the series, but the first time he left was painful!
