ICSSR:- INDIAN COUNCIL OF SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH
The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) is the national body regulating research in the sociologies in India. It was set up in New Delhi in 1969. It gives financing to researchers and a system of twenty-seven research establishments, among them:
- the Center for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram
- the Center for Policy Research, New Delhi
- the Center for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta
- the Center for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi
- the Center for Multi-Disciplinary Development Research
- the Center for Women’s Development Studies, Delhi
- the Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad
