ITBP:- INDO-TIBET BORDER POLICE

It is among the five Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised on 24 October 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The ITBP was proposed for organization along India’s outskirt with China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.

In September 1996, the Parliament of India established the “Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Act, 1992” to “accommodate the constitution and control” of the ITBP “for guaranteeing the security of the fringes of India and for issues associated therewith”. The principal leader of the ITBP, assigned Inspector General, was Balbir Singh, a cop beforehand having a place with the Intelligence Bureau. The ITBP, which began with 4 brigades, has since rebuilt in 1978 has experienced development to a power of 56 contingents starting at 2017 with an endorsed quality of 89,432.

The ITBP is prepared in Civil Medical Camp, catastrophe administration, and atomic, natural and synthetic debacles. ITBP workforce have been conveyed abroad in UN peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Haiti, Western Sahara, Sudan, Afghanistan and somewhere else. Two brigades of ITBP are deputed to National Disaster Response Force.
