NAFED:- National Agricultural and Marketing Federation

NAFED is the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. It is an organization of marketing cooperatives for agricultural produce in India, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Founded in October 1958, NAFED promotes the trade of agricultural produce and forest resources throughout the nation. With its headquarters in New Delhi, it has 4 regional offices and 28 zonal offices in important cities. It was set up with the object to promote marketing of agricultural produce to benefit the farmers. The main members of NAFED are the agricultural farmers who can have a say in the matters of NAFED by representing themselves in the form of members of the general body. It helps farmers to procure products like pulses, food grains, spices, cotton, oilseeds, fruits, and vegetables through the established cooperative network all over the country. It provides marketing assistance to farmers by arranging the disposal of their products at terminal markets enabling them to fetch the best possible price for their produce.
