NEERI:- National Environment Engineering Research Institute
NEERI stands for National Environmental Engineering Research Institute which is a research institute created and funded by the Government of India. It was established in the year 1958 in the city of Nagpur. It aims to conduct research in environmental science and engineering and to develop these studies. It assists industries of a region and local bodies to solve problems of environmental pollution. It interacts and collaborates with academic and research institutions on environmental science and engineering with an aim of mutual benefit for both. Its vision is leadership in environmental science and engineering for the sustainable development of the nation as a whole. NEERI’s mission is to strive for providing effective and innovative solutions for environmentally sustainable development. It aims to help the society, industry and the government by accomplishing these goals. It is an apex laboratory in the field of environmental science and engineering. It is a part of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
