WMO :- World Meteorological Organization
The World meteoric Organization (WMO) is Associate in nursing intergovernmental organization with a membership of 191 Member States and Territories. Its current Secretary-General is Petteri Taalas and therefore the President of the globe meteoric Congress, its supreme body, is David Grimes. The Organization is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It followed on from the International meteoric Organization, based in 1873, a non-governmental organization. Reforms of standing and structure were planned from the Nineteen Thirties, culminating within the World meteoric Convention signed on eleven Oct 1947 that came into force on twenty-three March 1950. It formally became the globe meteoric Organization on seventeen March 1951, and was selected as a specialised agency of the world organization. World meteoric Day is controlling annually on twenty-three March. The United Nations agency and world organization setting Programme (UNEP) conjointly created Intergovernmental Panel on global climate change temperature change} (IPCC) received the philanthropist Peace Prize in 2007 “for their efforts to make up and bare larger information regarding phylogeny (man-made) climate change, and to get the foundations for the measures that area unit required to counteract such amendment.”
