jQuery unload()

The jQuery unload() method is used to attach a function to run when a unload event occurs i.e, when a

  • Link is clicked, leaving the current page.
  • Forward or back button is used.
  • New URL is typed in the address bar.
  • The browser window is closed.
  • Page is reloaded.


To trigger the unload event for selected elements.


To add a function to the unload event.



  • It is an optional parameter.
  • The function parameter specifies the function to run when the event occurs.
