NITIE:- National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering
NITIE is the acronym for National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering. It is an institution imparting post-graduate education to its students. The institute is located in Powai in Mumbai, India. The institute first started as an Industrial Engineering Institute. It now offers postgraduate diplomas in various fields including management and industrial engineering. It also doctoral level fellowship programmes. The government of India established it in the year 1963. It was established with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme through the International Labour Organization with an aim to create skilled professionals. It was funded by the Government of the country. Under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, the institution is registered as a society. Its motto is “Udyog Pragati” in Hindi which translates in English to “Progress in Industry”. The institute is a Public business school. It offers postgraduate diplomas in various fields. These include management and industrial engineering. Doctoral level fellowship programmes are also offered.
