NTES:- National Train Enquiry System
NTES stands for National Train Enquiry System. It was developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) which is the IT wing of Indian Railways for the dissemination of information on trains traveling across the country to the public. It is the back end system which collects information about trains running on near rail time basis and disseminates information through various interfaces like nationwide unique number 139, Website, face to face interaction and inquiry, mobile interfaces etc. The new interface was made public from 6th September 2013 and it offers quick and easy access to essential information for passengers. It has been largely appreciated for its speed, simple interface, and richness of information and smoother experience for the users and passengers. It has also launched a lightweight mobile compatible web interface has been launched to serve various kinds of inquiries through mobile internet which is less time consuming as well as easily accessible.
