SWAPO:- South West African Peoples Organization
The full form of SWAPO stands for South West African People’s Organization. The South West African People’s Organization is a political party and was formerly a movement in Namibia for independence since the country achieved independence in 1990. The South West African People’s Organization was founded in the year 1966 by Sam Nujoma, Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo, Jacob Kuhangua, Louis Nelengani, Lucas Nepela. The headquarters of the Southwest African People’s Organization is located in Windhoek, Namibia. Namibia Today was a newspaper of the South West African People’s Organization which is currently inactive. Hage Geingob is the president of the South West African People’s Organization. And Sophia Shaningwa is the secretary general of the Southwest African People’s Organization. Including the SWAPO think tank, SPYL youth wing, the South West African People’s Organization elder’s council, the South West African People’s Organization women’s council, the South West African People’s Organization has quite a big economic and administrative influence. The South West African People’s Organization also has a paramilitary which is called the People’s Liberation Army of Namibia which was integrated into Namibian Defense Force.
