UNESCO:- United Nations Economic and Social Commission

UNESCO stands for united nation economic and social commission. Its headquarter is in New York City, New York. It was formed in 1945. UNESCO is one of the six principal organs of the United Nation and is responsible for coordinating the economic, social and work related to 15 UN agencies. The council has 54 members out of 193 UN member states and are elected each year by the United General Assembly for overlapping three-year terms. UNESCO is responsible for promoting a higher standard of living, employment, identifying solutions to international economic, social and health problems, facilitating international culture and educational cooperation. The UN commission focused on promoting gender equality and empowering women as well as focused on the issues of women’s education, social status, political equality etc. Inga Rhonda King was elected as seventy-fourth presidents of Economic and Social Council. It is the principal body for coordination, policy review and recommendation economic, social and environmental issues to achieve its development goals.
