Following the violent invasion, Brazilian president Luiz Inacio 'Lula' da Silva who defeated Jair Bolsonaro in October elections.
"The Brasilia police neglected (the attack threat), Brasilia's intelligence neglected it," Lula said, adding, "It is easy to see in the footage.
The besiege prompted police to make more than 1,500 arrests while officials continue investigating those who financed the 'coup acts', Lula informed.
The attack bore similarities to the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the US Capitol when supporters of ex-US President Donald Trump stormed Congress.
