NGRI:- National Geophysical Research Institute

NGRI stands for National Geophysical Research Institute is a research laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). It was established in the year 1961. It is headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana. Its mission is to do research in multiple areas of the structure and processes of Earth system and it’s interlinked subsystems. It has dedicated staff of about 200 scientists along with a very supportive technical staff that has helped NGRI to leave its mark worldwide by publishing journals and other research papers for the benefit of the nation as well as the world. The scientific contributions of NGRI have contributed to a better understanding of the knowledge about the Earth’s structure, its dynamics, and its resources. With the passage of time, this institution has adapted to modern computational and analytical facilities.

It aims to conduct research for the public and to enable the government, public and private sector stakeholders to make informed decisions about the sustainable use of geo-resources. Geo-resources or Geographical resources are the resources the basic resources that act as the base for life in today’s world.
