NSTEDB:- National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board
NSTEDB refers to National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board. It was established in 1982 by the Government of India under the aegis of the Department of Science and Technology. It is an institutional mechanism. It is an institutional mechanism to help promote knowledge-driven and technology-intensive enterprises. It has representations from socio-economic and scientific Ministries or Departments and aims to convert job-seekers into job-generators through Science and Technology interventions. It seeks to promote and develop high-end entrepreneurship for science and technology manpower as well as self-employment by utilizing science and technology methods. It facilitates and conducts various informational services relating to the promotion of entrepreneurship. Information dissemination, generation of entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities are facilitated by the NSTEDB. The programs they conduct have created awareness among people to take up entrepreneurship as a career. Researchers have started showing a keen interest in such socially relevant roles and have engaged themselves in programs conducted by NSTEDB.
