TANSI:- Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation
TANSI stands for Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation. It is an undertaking of the state government, the government of Tamil Nadu located in Tamil Nadu, India. The Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation was formed on 1st December 1965 and registered under the Companies Act, 1956. It was created to take over the scale units that were set up and run by the Department of Industries and Commerce. These small units were 64 in number. In the next phase, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation started a few other small units under its wing. In 1985, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation helped in starting Tamil Nadu Paints and Allied Products Limited (TAPAP) with a Small Chemical Unit in Ambattur, Thiruvallur. This Paints plant was started for the need of Tamil Nadu government & its organizations. The TAPAP Ambattur started commercial production on 01st April 1986.
