UNIDO – United Nations Industrial Development Organization
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization which is an acronym of UNIDO, and in French or Spanish its acronym is ONUDI. It is a specialized organization in the United Nations system. The headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization is in Vienna in Austria. The primary objective of the organization is to promote and increase the speed of development of the industrial organization in the developing countries and the countries with economies experiencing significant change and the advancement of international industrial cooperation. United Nations Industrial Development Organization has also become one of the members of the United Nations Development Group.
UNIDO also believes that competitive and naturally practical industry has to play a crucial role in accelerating the growth which is economic, it reduces poverty as well as accomplishing the Millennium Development Goals. UNIDO Organization, therefore, works towards the improvisation of the quality of life of the poor world by drawing on its combined global resources and expertise in the tropical regions.
