Andrew Jackson’s African Grey parrot “Poll” is eradicated from his funeral for swearing at The Hermitage, Tennessee. Funeral attendee William Menefee Norment recorded: “In advance of the sermon and whilst the group was collecting, a wicked parrot that was a residence pet obtained fired up and commenced swearing so loud and extended as to disturb the men and women and had to be carried from the house”
